Project Overview

The Open Door Kitchen makes utensil holders designed to keep food and tools protected for families and grillers.

The visual identity needed to be clever, friendly, and clearly tied to kitchen and outdoor cooking.

Design Objectives

  • Combine kitchenware and outdoor cooking cues in the mark.
  • Appeal to families and grilling enthusiasts.
  • Create something memorable and playful without feeling gimmicky.
  • Work well across packaging, web, and merch.

Logo concept

The final logo integrates kitchen tools directly into the letterforms:

  • An uppercase “D” shaped like an open door, reinforcing both the name and a sense of welcome.
  • A fork built into the descender of a letterform.
  • A spoon integrated into an ascender.

Warm, inviting colors support the family and backyard‑cooking vibe.

Implementation

The identity has been used on:

  • Product packaging and bags.
  • Shopify storefront and marketing assets.
  • Branded accessories like aprons and mitts.

Overall, the system gives The Open Door Kitchen a distinctive, family‑friendly personality that clearly signals what the product is about.
