Fontaine is the #1 flatbed trailer manufacturer in North America. They cater to dealers, fleet managers, and independent owners by building and customizing heavy duty flatbed trailers configured to meet each customers need. They came to Steel Croissant for a new website, and an overhaul of their branding identity through graphic design, marketing campaigns and SEO. My work included Art Direction, website development and collaboration with Steel Croissant on all initiatives over several years.

Summary

For Fontaine Trailer, North America’s leading flatbed trailer manufacturer, the new website needed to do three things well:

  • Show the breadth of the product line.  
  • Honor an 80‑year legacy of manufacturing.  
  • Make it easy for buyers to configure and move toward purchase.

Design

We designed an interface that feels premium but approachable:

  • Clear pathways into the three major product families:  
    • Revolution® all‑aluminum.  
    • Infinity™ combo.  
    • Velocity™ steel.  
  • Layouts that foreground product imagery and specs while staying easy to skim.  
  • Navigation patterns tuned for dealers, fleet managers, and independent owners.

Development

Key build features:

  • An advanced product catalog with rich filtering and sorting so users can quickly narrow to the right trailer.  
  • A “Build My Trailer” configurator for tailored specs with real‑time feedback.  
  • A dealer locator that ties into mapping, helping users find sales and service points nearby.  
  • Product pages with multiple angles, detailed specs, and clear CTAs.

Forms and routing were set up so inquiries go to the right sales contact with necessary context attached.

Content

Content had to balance technical accuracy with readability:

  • Plain‑language explanations of innovations like the RASR routed aluminum siderail system.  
  • Application‑oriented guidance so buyers can connect models to real‑world use.  
  • Consistent documentation of specs and options across the range.

Results
